Wembley Stadium, London. GV Halifax in stripes, kick-off from left to right. They attack right away towards Warrington. CU Halifax back-heeling and ball being passed to team-mates. Ball received by Halifax player who kicks out of frame. CU D. Bevan (Halifax) running with ball. He is tackled and brought down by Brian Bevan (Warrington). Bevan (Halifax) gets up and back-heels to Griffiths, who then tries to break through, but is brought down by two or three Warrington players. He gets up and back heels again to Wilkinson who passes ball out to Todd. Three quarters tries to break through, but is brought down. SV crowd. SV Halifax back-heeling to team-mate, who passes on to Kielty who passes on to P. Todd, who passes to Lynch. He is tackled by Stevens and downed. Bath (Warrington) rushes in and kicks ball away, and referee orders penalty. LV T. Griffiths takes penalty for Halifax from 40 yards to give his team the lead after 15 minutes. Ball through posts.
