Soundtrack is currently missing for this issue. Titles read: “THE WHEEL AND THE WAY“. Various locations of events. Several shots of wheels - a woman sitting at a spinning wheel, a water wheel, a woman using an exercise wheel (one where you are strapped into a metal wheel and roll around in it looking graceful). Several shots of wheels in transport - men race on bicycles and penny farthings, a car drives along, C/U of steam train wheels in action. Animated diagrams show a tree being struck by lightning, the fallen trunk being used to roll logs along by a prehistoric man. The sledge and rollers evolve into the early cart on a fixed roller, then friction from the roller was alleviated by cutting the roller down in the centre, creating the wheel axle. An ancient wheel is seen in a museum. A man rolls a huge wooden cart wheel towards us. In a factory we see various shots of car wheels being made, then C/U of the finished wheel turning on a car.
