Harry Tate (1934)

Titles read: “Now Pathetone has pleasure in presenting - HARRY TATE the famous comedian. Supported by Harry Tate, Junr. and Hughie Green - In a new comedy sketch “Mixed Ginx“ by Max Kester“. Location of events unknown - probably London. Harry Tate enters the set of an office; a sign on the door reads ’Estate and Detective Agency’. He sits at his desk and engages in some cross talk with the office boy, played by Hughie Green (looking impossibly young!). Harry picks up the telephone and speaks to a butcher. With much moustache twitching, he orders 600 tons of sausages, then cancels the order when he finds out the sausages are straight. A man in a coat and large hat enters (I think this is Harry Tate Junior), and Harry greets him as ’Hawkeye’. The man puts his finger in his mouth and makes his hat rise up (Harry says “Oooh, a clue!“), then goes out of the door, wafting his hands in a mysterious fashion.
