Item title reads: “Flat Racing Season begins. And an army of workmen are striving night and day to get Epsom’s new ’wonder’ stand ready for the Spring Meeting.“ Epsom, Surrey M/S of building work in progress showing a crane and scaffold towers, followed by a side view of the stadium. There are steel frameworks being erected, and men hammering rivets and using sledge hammers. Various views of men working, tightening bolts. The camera pans around the site. The new stand is half complete and the old buildings are being demolished by hand. M/S of men removing lead from a roof and tower. Another man is seen working on a roof with bare rafters. Low angle shots of the men at work on roof . Two men work on some stone work pushing lumps off a parapet and throw debris from the roof.
