Item title reads: “ The “Fete des vignerons“ (wine growers fete). 2,000 performers in pastoral festival held every 22 years since 16th century.“ Vevey, Switzerland M/S people dressed in costumes of olden day - some as soldiers in 17th century dress - tights, leather jerkins, baggy trousers to the knee, plumed hats and carrying pikes. They are seen entering an arena through an archway. L/S from above, show men and women in costume involved in various displays and dancing in traditional manner watched by large crowds seated round an arena. A Swiss flag hangs over the arena. Shots of large floats pulled by horses walking round the arena, with girls performing a maypole display, and others gathering for the close of the festival. Note: country dancing sequence.
