In Recent Years Memphis HipHop has been getting more attention due to names like NLE Choppa, Pooh Shiesty, Big Scarr, Glorilla and other new rappers but there is a lot of history people don’t know about. The 90s Memphis Horrorcore rap scene was responsible for popularizing a lot of the elements in todays music. Three 6 Mafia and 8ball MJG are the most well known group from this time period but outside of 36 Mafia and 8ball MJG rappers like Tommy Wright lll, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Al Kapone, Gangsta Blac, Playa Fly played a big role in 90s Horrorcore music scene. Through the 2000s and 10s rappers like Yo Gotti, Blac Youngsta, and Moneybagg Yo took over to carry on the Memphis releveance.
