Drone footage shows devastation caused by Greece wildfires

Flames swept through Mati, 25 miles from Athens, leaving scores of people dead, more than a thousand homes destroyed and hundreds of cars ruined. Many died behind a wall of toxic smoke and rampaging fire as they tried to reach the safety of the sea with ’lightning quick’ blazes travelling from the hills to the coast in just ten minutes. Those who managed to escape have revealed horrifying scenes as they packed out village beaches waiting to be rescued overnight.
