LONG COLD BATH AND AFTERDROP

Filmed 1 week before the “Christmas video“....Brice, Joan and Firmin has taken a long cold bath, in the Nive ( river in the S W of France , in the Pyrrenees region). For Firmin, it was the 1st time and he was very brave! Brice and Joan have the objective this winter to bath 15 min in ice cold water ( 0°C to 4°C) Before, they must control the warm-up and the “afterdrop“ in less cold water ( /- 10°C). The afterdrop happens /- 5 min after the end of the bath, when the cold blood of limbs and skin mingles with warm blood of the body’s is manifested by tremors, sometimes hard to bear, mostly for the first times. Regular training and several techniques ( breathing, “horse stance“...) are helping to master the afterdrop without externe heating, and necessary before increasing the duration of the bath, or decreasing the t° of water... Brice increases his control, and Joan shows here a very good level of mastering : 5 min after the bath, before drying and dressing,
