’Going into the lion’s den’: Trump hits out at Kamala Harris’ racial identity

Journalist and commentator Brad Polumbo discusses former US president Donald Trump hitting out at Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity during the National Association of Black Journalists convention. Mr Trump claimed she ‘became a black person’ to get ahead in politics. “I do give him some credit for honestly going there,” Mr Polumbo told Sky News host Gabriella Power. “Because he was very much going into the lion’s den. “She can be both [biracial]. It may be true that she’s emphasised the Indian side of her identity more, but Trump almost seems to be suggesting that … she’s pretending to be an ethnicity she’s not.”
