Noah in Hebrew also means “comfortable,” i.e. the Creator feels comfortable with him, as the writing says, “he was most righteous in his generation.” Noah’s generation, like our own, was not that great. Noah was a very special man on a unique level of attainment, development, and sensation called “the revelation of the Creator.” This means the revelation of all the forces of nature. We can imagine that he was not an ordinary person. This is also a symbol of the first special revelation of the Creator. It takes place when we start understanding that, against the upper force, we have to act through self-annulment. This does not mean erasing our sense of self, i.e. our analysis, synthesis, and perception of reality. On the contrary, it means the annulment of our egoistic nature, which is actually not our own.
