12 String Mandriola / 12 string Mandolin

This is a beautiful and unique instrument. The mandriola is a 12 string mandolin. In this configuration the first two sets of 3 strings are hi octave/ low/low and the second set of 3 strings are all in unison. This makes for a very full and airy sound. The origin and age of this instrument is unknown but I believe from it’s construction it is more likely South American instead of European. The neck is wider that a standard mandolin to make chord fingering for the 12 strings easy. the instrument is all
