Cheap Getaway | Camping & Hiking by Lake Alpine in the Stanislaus National Forest
Lake Alpine is a warm and welcoming hideout high up on the Western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It sits at an elevation of 7,350 feet and is located off Highway four in Stanislaus National Forest. The National Forest was shaped by volcanic and glacial action, which has created the epic natural features at such a high elevations. The Lake Alpine recreation area is characterized by 180 surface acres of cool, clear mountain water and friendly locals. This serene spot is surrounded by vibrant red fir and lodgepole pine forest. It’s a summer paradise with an abundance of close-by campgrounds and lodging. Lake Alpine is the perfect place to swim, sunbathe, boat, hike and fill up your cup in our natural world. We camped out at the Silver Valley Campsite and at Lodgepole Campground. We spent time dipping our toes in the water and lounging by the lake.
