Sea scouts - West Kirby. Sea Scouts (type of Boy Scouts?) hold a big water show for an audience; c. 1920s. Opens w/ shot of some spectators; inc. old man in Scout leader uniform; water in BG- -possibly they & camera are all on a boat. Pan up; looking out to water; a few rafts or small barges are disguised as islands w/ fake palm trees; etc.; shore in distance w/ more spectators. Boys row 2-person kayaks in races. Boys also perform a pageant w/ a sort of nautical theme. Includes pirate ship w/ a man forced to walk the plank; a wild native ceremony on island; w/ boys dressed in grass skirts w/ etc. and dancing around; a mysterious sea monster; like a giant snake; swims toward an island; cruel taskmaster whips galley slaves to make them row faster.
