5 Steps AKA Five Steps - Roll 2 (1960-1969)

Great film about the training of officer cadets in the Royal Navy. 5 Steps - Towards a Commission in The Royal Navy. Number 4 - Various shots of Royal Navy Officer cadets training on warship. VS of frigate at sea. Shots of the trainees helping out in various parts of the ship - navigating, in the galley / kitchen, in the engine room, cleaning the ship’s nameplate ’HMS Scarborough’, using radar, manning anti-aircraft guns, missiles, meeting with senior officers and young women, relaxing in hammocks and bunks (this sequence has great groovy 1960s sound track). Number 5 - One of the cadets leads a party of divers to recover equipment - possibly in Malaysia. They come under fire and have to mount a daring counter attack against the terrorists. (Looks like a reconstruction). The cadet has to write a letter to the Admiralty commending his men. 01:06:46 End credits. The first roll is on PM2753. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
