LS assembly, Eisenhower enters press conference room. CUs reporters. CU Eisenhower, as he is asked question by reporter: “How do you feel now about the argument that the only man in Russia that you can do business with is Soviet Premier Khruschev?“ Eisenhower’s answer is: “Well, I think it is perfectly clear that he is the only man that has the opportunity and authority to negotiate, this doesn’t mean that any one can command anybody else to come to a summit meeting, and he can’t bluff them or blackmail them or anything else. This is to be a meeting, if there is one, of heads of government who are acting voluntarily and because of their beliefs, in the possibilities with some kind of grounds for such a belief that real measures can be discussed possibly by others.“ Date on dope sheet is 26/03/1959.
