Sea Lions (1940-1949)

British Instructional Films Ltd presents a Classroom Film. Sea Lions in a zoo enclosure jump down from a rocky ledge into a pool below. Someone off screen throws them fish and they catch them. A crowd watches them. It is presumably feeding time. Two sea lions swim in the pool. C/U of head of sea lion. One of the sea lions climbs up the terrace. The other dives into the pool. They eat more fish. One catches a fish in mid air as it is thrown in. One of the animals does a spectacular slide on to the rocks. C/U of the sea lion’s flippers. The keeper (only his hand seen) tries to get the sea lion to “shake hands.“ Two sea lions have a bit of a fight. One sea lion walks on an island and eats a big fish then dives into the water around the island. We see it swim along from above. More shots of the sea lion swimming.
