Naval Military Tournament (1910-1919)

Naval military tournament. Location of events unknown. Pageants. Some sort of historical military performance. DS looking over soldiers’ show at a military tournament - w/ historical uniforms (they look like Roman’s) & equipment. Group of men in shiny helmets pose w/ spears and shields - - front row kneels in circle; holding up square shields w/ spears sticking out between them, others stand behind them and those at the very centre hold spears up vertically . Look like knights of old, medieval warfare. They rise; move into another formation They demonstrate turning shields so that they form a protective roof and walls. The whole group of men move as one geometrical form; inside a cube of shields. One man stands on top of the shields holding a sword or dagger. Children watch; standing just behind them.
