Riots in Vienna. Austria. Riots in Vienna; Austria; July 15; 1927 broke out when 3 members of the Veterans’ Movement were acquitted of assault charges resulting from a confrontation w/ the Republican Defence League, incl. accusations of striking a worker and a child. Opens w/ wide shot Palace of Justice w/ papers flying out of second floor window; crowd in front; some people running up steps & into building. Another angle of crowd; then bldg. again. Next; shot looking down st. w/ smoke coming out of the bldg; at rt. looks like a few fire-fighters in street; w/ ladder leaning up against building. Shot looking up at smoke pouring out window. Closer shot: firemen w/ hose on ladder at left; flames seen through windows at rt. Pan around interior; extensive damage fallen beams; piles of smouldering rubble.
