6th Battalion Grenadier Guards (1914-1918)

6th Battalion Grenadier Guards. London. Guards drill in park (looks like Birdcage Walk or Horseguards - SL); practice spearing things with their bayonets. Opens with shot of soldiers poised on one knee holding their rifles with bayonets; iron fence of park in BG; with pedestrians strolling past. They jump up and advance a few steps in a crouching position; then drop again. In FG some are starting up a hill. Next; rows of soldiers run toward camera; 1st stabbing some sacks piled on ground; then running and stabbing sacks hanging from a bar; running on past camera. Several rows go through this. Next another attack practice. This time rows of the grenadiers come running jump off a wall and stab the filled sacks. Very fierce. Violence. War. Military. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
