Maywood - Pasadena (LP Different worlds)[1981]

Maywood was a Dutch pop duo consisting of sisters Alice May and Caren Wood (pseudonyms of Alie (Aaltje) and Doetie (Doetje) de Vries respectively) from Uitwellingerga. In 1979 the sisters decided to continue under the name Maywood. The English repertoire was written by Alice and often consisted of theatrical ballads and danceable pop songs. The production was in the hands of ex-Kayak drummer Pim Koopman, who thus took his first steps on the production path. The second single You treated me wrong became Maywood’s first hit in 1979. Although it did not reach a high chart position, it marked the breakthrough for the duo and also the beginning of an extremely successful period. Bigger hits soon followed, of which the song Late at night in 1980 became a number 1 hit in both the Top 40 and the National Hit Parade.
