I am so stupidly proud of my students. Here’s what happened in classes with multiple kids recently: THEY ALL STARTED PICKING GAMES TO PLAY WITH THAT ARE SLIGHTLY ABOVE THEIR LEVEL! 🥰 I made so many faces in the video, trying to restrain myself from helping them in order to give them more time. I knew the activity is harder than the student’s level, but he still did it so well! What does this mean, pedagogically? It means that: 1️⃣ Giving students time to get to the harder activities by themselves does wonders. 2️⃣ Giving them a choice of 10 different practices to choose from is helping them be more motivated. 3️⃣ Giving them choice puts them in control of the class and they lead it. 4️⃣ Because of their own choice, they were not stressed! They answered 99% correctly with minimal help! All of the 10 vocabulary and grammar games are from the same unit - to me, as a teacher, it does not matter which practice they pick in which order after the basics have been introduced. Having a choice and being in a student-centered classroom however, definitely matters to the students. 💥If you think your child would like my classroom and if you feel like we are the right fit, feel free to reach out, group classes enrollment for 2024 are officially open! 💥 #readingforkids #storybooksforkids #storiesforkids #vocabularybuiulding #earlyliteracy #eslreading #englishgames #onlineenglishteacher #onlineenglish #englishforkids #englishteacherforkids
