Seoul aims to seal defense procurement deal with Washington by year-end

The Presidential Office said Wednesday that Second Deputy National Security Director Yin Sung-hwan held a fourth meeting to evaluate and discuss how to ramp up defense exports as a national strategy. Speaking with relevant state institutes and firms -including Hanwha Aerospace, LIG Nex1, and Hyundai Rotem -Yin highlighted the sector as a future cash cow for the nation. Seoul says it will work with the U.S. to conclude the Reciprocal Defense Procurement Agreement within the year.
