In January 1969, the Zurich music scene was replenished with a team with the provocatively menacing name “Krokodil”. Of the five musicians included in the original lineup, more than half were not new to show business. Drummer Düde Dürst managed to work in the beat bands “The Starlights” and “Les Sauterelles”, and the latter group, called the Swiss “Beatles”, was at the top of the national charts. Keyboardist and vocalist Hardy Hepp collaborated with Columbia and Liberty and managed to gain fame as the “Alpine Tom Jones.” Walty Anselmo, who mastered several instruments to perfection, including the sitar, among other merits, had the title of finalist at the local rhythm and blues festival. This trio was accompanied by Mojo Weideli (harmonica, flute, vocals) and London native Terry Stevens (guitar, bass, vocals). Quite quickly, the “crocodiles” managed to get a contract with Liberty/United Artists, and already in May 1969 they went to the Munich Trixie studio, where they recorded their debut record together with producer Siegfried Loch. Of the seven compositions present on the disc, only two songs did not belong to the group itself: the opener “Morning Dew”, borrowed from Tim Rose and designed in a psychedelic manner a la “Doors”, and the blues tradition “Watchin’ Chain”...
