Folk rock band from Canterbury (but not part of the Canterbury Scene). The ensemble’s musical style is a mixture of English folk music of the Elizabethan era, folk rock, and progressive rock. The term romantic folk rock was used to define their original style. Formed by vocalist/guitarist Martin Cockerham, vocalist Barbara Gaskin, bassist Steve Borrill and Julian Cusack (flute, piano), the band gained experience performing in campuses and folk clubs. . They mainly used acoustic instruments to perform their fragile and peaceful songs, inspired by the fairy tales of the Middle Ages. With Gaskin’s charismatic presence and voice at the forefront, and their creative brain Cockerham, the ensemble’s excellent live work secured a recording contract with B&C.
