Shawn James - Brighter Day

For the 4th & final song for the sessions we captured at Lake Wenatchee, I wanted to end on a positive note which is why I chose to play Brighter Day. Although I tend to write songs with a darker atmosphere to them, it’s not always the case. Some of my favorites have to do with finding hope in hard times, letting go of pain & exploring ways to move forward through it all. It’s no shock that this last year has been tough on everyone. I’ve gone through many periods during this time of feeling down, stagnant, and just altogether sad with no sense of being able to see an end in sight. On top of that, there’s been multiple times where we thought this would all be over sooner but then had to push back events & things we were looking forward to even farther than we had ever imagined..
