Some Girls - Some Girls, the Rolling Stones

In the year 1978, the Rolling Stones (1963-present) released their hit album Some Girls, with iconic songs such as Some Girls, Miss You, Lies, and Beast Of Burden. The lyrics of many of the songs were and still are extremely vulgar or inappropriate, adding an edge to the album (with the already extremely edgy sound). The album was the band’s best-selling album, having more than six million copies sold by 2000. The album was the first and only Rolling Stones album nominated for a Grammy. By 1976, the band was in decline in success and fame due to the increased popularity and dominance of disco and punk, and they themselves hadn’t had a critically successful album since Exile On Main St. (1972). The album, upon release, changed that. Some Girls is a staple and a note of the Rolling Stones’ career, music, change, and rebelliousness from then to now.
