Jumping motes of moon dust

A team from the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at CU Boulder is taking a high-tech approach to the old problem of cleaning up sticky lunar dust: Why not zap it away? This slow-motion video shows how a dusty glass plate, installed in a vacuum chamber on campus, responds when researchers hit it with a concentrated (and safe) beam of electrons. The dust particles literally leap off.
