Police give update as 14-year-old boy killed in Hainaut stabbing

Police confirmed a 14-year-old boy injured in the Hainault sword attack on Tuesday, 30 April, has died. The young boy was taken to hospital after being stabbed and died a short time after, Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell said. A 36-year-old man has been arrested and officers are not searching for other suspects. Authorities do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public and the incident did not appear to be terror-related, he added. Officers were called shortly before 7am to reports of a vehicle being driven into a house in Thurlow Gardens area. Witnesses spoke of shrieks and screams following reported stabbings and attacks on police officers.
