Macron says Russia will be asked to observe ceasefire during Paris Olympics

Macron was speaking in an interview shown on Ukrainian television on Saturday. In response, Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said France should first stop its weapon supplies to Ukraine, adding that Macron should have proposed the same ceasefire for the Middle Eastern conflict. Macron’s interview comes after the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, said last week she would prefer it if Russians and Belarusians “don’t come“ to the Paris Olympics.
