New Resident 🌳 A butchered up tree stump like this one, is the perfect location to capture woodpeckers on camera. This set-up gave me great footage of hedgehogs, mice and a Great-Spotted Woodpecker, but it was the Black Woodpecker that was my goal species here. And on the third day, he showed up!! 😄 It surprised me how much larger they are compared to Great-Spotted Woodpeckers. Love his crazy eyes and the way he uses its tongue to get insects out of the holes he pecked.
