Mike Bossy OT Winner over Russia in the 1984 Canada Cup Semifinal (Sept. 13, 1984)

Mike Bossy’s overtime winner came as a result of a Paul Coffey poke check (both were rivals in the previous Spring’s Stanley Cup Final) and Canada would advance to the finals to play Sweden, whom they would sweep in the best two-out-of-three final to win their second Canada Cup. Sweden has yet to win a Canada Cup/World Cup of Hockey to date, but have won championships in other international competitions.
