Marilyn Monroe Visits Servicemen in Tokyo Army Hospital

This is a video of Marilyn’s honeymoon in Japan with former Yankee permanent Joe DiMaggio, when she visited the Tokyo Army Hospital to comfort wounded soldiers. It is said to have been acclaimed as “the greatest cure since penicillin.“ You can feel the kindness of Marilyn’s beautiful heart. At around 1 minute and 2 seconds into the video, you can see that Marilyn has a splint on her right thumb. It is said that the injury was caused by an accidental, but not malicious, assault by a drunken DiMaggio after a minor dispute on January 31, before his visit to Japan. Poor Marilyn!
