F-117 Airflow SImulation

Ever wondered how airflow around F-117 look like? Well, here is a glance. I used SolidWorks Flow Simulation to simulate it. Sorry about low res, but it would take for ever on my PC to make it better. Some is lost in compression also. It took me around 2 days to done it. It would took much less if my PC didn’t confuse when I gave it F-117 to analyze. Remmeber that this is simulation done on home PC, there is a reason why they still pay for full scale wind tunnels. But, general principal of airflow around F-117 are in the video, accurate resoult are not. Some of the things I’ve noticed from simulation: Fuselage is producing a big part of lift. The area behind thecockpit is under big low pressure zone. Basically, the whole fuselage works like big airfoil (rough one). Engine inlets on the side of the fuselage are also made to produce low pressure on the top. On the back end of the fuselage, just before V tail, there is big possibility for airflow separation on that last sharp
