L’aviation hitlérienne qui devait cibler le port, avait touché la rue Didouche / Michelet, le boulevard Che Guevara / République, El Kittani / Padovani et Boulevard Mira/ le front de mer de Bab El Oued et Notre-Dame d’Afrique en tuant plusieurs soeurs blanches du couvent (aujourd’hui l’ambassade du Vatican). La seule trace qui reste de cet évènement est le grand trou béant qui se trouve entre la basilique Notre-Dame d’Afrique et le cimetière israélite de Bologhine / Saint-Eugène. تظهر هذه الصور التي تعود إلى عام 1942 شوارع وسط العاصمة الجزائر مدمرة بعد قصف القوات النازية . كانت طائرات هتلر التي استهدفت الميناء قد أصابت شارع ديدوش / ميشليه ، وشارع تشي جيفارا / ريبوبليك ، و الكتاني / بادوفاني ، و نهج ميرا / الواجهة البحرية لباب الواد ، السيدة الافريقية بقتل العديد من أخوات الدير البيض ( الآن سفارة الفاتيكان). الأثر الوحيد الذي بقي من هذا الحدث هو الفجوة الكبيرة بين كاتدرال السيدة الأفريقية والمقبرة اليهودية في بولوغين. This footage from the year 1942 shows the streets downtown Algiers destroyed after the Luftwaffe bombardments. Hitler’s air forces had targeted the port and hit rue Didouche / Michelet, boulevard Che Guevara / République, El Kittani / Padovani , Boulevard Mira / the seafront of Bab El Oued and Notre-Dame d’Afrique by killing several white sisters of the convent (now the Vatican embassy). The only trace that remains of this event is the large gaping hole between the Cathedral of Notre-Dame d’Afrique and the Jewish cemetery of Bologhine / Saint-Eugène.
