CAB CALLOWAY & NICHOLAS BROS. - (Hep-Hep!) The Jumpin’ Jive

Calloway does the singing and jivin’, and the Nicholas Brothers do the jumpin’ (and some mighty painful looking splits). “(Hep-Hep!) The Jumpin’ Jive“ was a huge hit in 1939 (Vocalion 5005), and his second biggest ever (after “Minnie the Moocher“). One good ICKAROO song deserves another. Click the Video Response link below for “Mildred, Won’t You Behave“ for one more. After their routine, there is a very cool photo of the Nicholas Brothers meeting Elvis backstage at the Lido in Paris. He and some friends attended their show that night (Jan. 1960), while on leave from the army.
