Cops Delete Anti-Cannabis Tweet, Kentucky Will Have Medical Marijuana Laws If Leaders Are Courageous
The Kentucky legislature’s Joint Interim Judiciary Committee held a hearing on a medical marijuana bill, and its sponsor said it will pass if leadership has the “courage” to simply allow a vote.
The Republican sponsor of a bill to legalize medical marijuana in Kentucky says he has made multiple revisions of the legislation to scale it back and add restrictions to garner more support from colleagues—and he’s confident it would pass if legislative leaders have the “courage” to simply allow a vote on it.
The McArthur, Ohio Police Department posted—and then deleted—a warning that a marijuana decriminalization measure voters will decide on next month would be “only the beginning of a downhill tumble with regards to ILLEGAL drug use.” Advocates say the chief’s use of department letterhead to “intimidate voters” amounts to illegal electioneering. Fourteen Ohio municipalities will decide on similar cannabis measures on their local ballots on November 2.
