Silent Noon

Surely one of the most popular English arts songs written. I have five versions -- it appears in a good proportion of song anthologies. But which one to choose for this lesson in interpretation? I almost settled on the Dame Felicity Lott rendition as it’s a lovely change in what is a man’s song. In the end I chose the Thomas Allen version because the accompaniment is better.
