Now Meet “Cockie“ Introduced By His Master, The Rev. F.W. Turner (1932)

The Reverend Turner asks Cockie to show the audience how much he loves him. Cockie rubs his face backwards and forwards against his master’s cheek. The Reverend tells the audience that they wouldn’t be able to get a bird like this to do anything at all if they were in any way unkind to it. He doesn’t believe in being cruel when training animals. Cockie isn’t very fond of being washed. The Reverend asks him “Will you be washed?“ and Cockie makes a strange sound expressing the negative. Cockie is asked if he is happy and he nods his head.
