Peeps Through The Window Of The World No. 77 (1936)

Titles read: ’PEEPS THROUGH THE WINDOW OF THE WORLD’. Various locations of events. In Asmara, capital of the Italian colony of Eritrea in North East Africa, we see several shots of the exterior and interior of Asmara Cathedral. The cathedral was built in 1922 and we are told that ornamentations on the outside roof and spire are regarded as masterpieces of modern art. In the snow-covered Tyrol in Austria, we two ways of getting ice. Water is poured through a large wooden frame, forming huge icicles as it freezes. Men knock bits of ice off. Other men saw chunks of ice from a frozen lake and pack them on a sledge. In Sevenoaks, Kent, we see a smartly-dressed woman walking along a suburban street with a little pig on a lead. The woman poses with the pig for us (looks quite odd). At home, the woman sits beside the fire, reading a book, with the pig sitting quietly beside her. Then the woman drinks a cup of tea with the pig on her lap. Very strange! FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
