VS of fleeing refugee farmers with belongings loaded on horsedrawn carts. They proceed along lane in rain followed by foals. Good shots of sad woman sitting under umbrella on back of cart. VS of bombed school with open books and pencils on desks. Good scenes of destruction. Sign on blackboard reads ’Vive La France’. More shot of bomb damaged walls. French army vehicles travel along roads. Troops in motorcycles and sidecars. Soldiers stop for a hot drink in their lorries. Various shots interior and exterior of badly bombed church. Good shot of smashed organ keyboard. CU of crucifix on wall. More shots of ruined Church. Graves and headstones in graveyard are smashed or leaning.
