London - Stir Wish Xmas Coming (1959)

Title reads: “Stir, Wish, Xmas Coming“. Cabdy Hall, London. L/S of singer Tommy Steele and comedian Benny Hill stirring Christmas pudding mix. M/S of the pair fooling around pretending to cook, there is a large Australian flag behind them. They are both dressed as chefs, a large audience of press watch - it’s a publicity stunt. Australia has donated ingredients to make the biggest Xmas pud in the world to be donated to the Wellington Boys’ Club in South London. C/U Benny Hill. They put horrible doughy mess into a bucket, Tommy plonks the pudding onto the table midst a cloud of flour. C/U women in aprons and cooks’ caps laughing. C/U Tommy putting currants into the bucket. Benny lifts a bottle of brandy to his lips. Tommy goes to empty contents of the bucket over Benny, but the bucket slips from his hands and hits Benny on the back of the head. C/U Benny wiping the bottle, he takes another drink from it, turns towards camera, wipes his mouth with his sleeve and burps. C/U real pudding b
