Titles read: “SOUTHEND - HERE’S MUD ON YOUR GOAL!“. Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Various shots of men playing their annual game of football on the muddy sand flats beside the pier. A girl is lying sunbathing on the beach nearby. The ball comes her way and loads of men suddenly jump on top of her! The poor girl is picked up and carried off by the men in the direction of the sea. A woman watching finds it ever so funny. We then see men and women playing in a mixed game of netball. The women are dressed as char ladies. They see off their male counterparts with mops and buckets of water. Woman spectator knits furiously while she watches the fun. One of the women players gets dumped in the muddy water.
