Howlin’ Wolf’s great and longtime guitarist Hubert Sumlin, has died aged 80. Sumlin died Sunday, 12/4, 2011 of heart failure at a hospital in Wayne, New Jersey, according to reports. Just before he died he asked for his guitar, reported. Born at Greenville, Mississippi on November 16 1931 he made his first recording with Wolf in 1953 and played with him until Wolf’s death in 1976. Did a short stint with Muddy Waters also. What great great music he and the Wolf made.
