Hard Rock Blasting - Awesome Mine Blasting Moments

There are a few reasons why mine blasting is done in mining pits: It’s an efficient way to break up and loosen hard rock so it can be more easily excavated. Drilling and mechanical excavation of solid rock is extremely slow and costly compared to using explosives. Blasting creates rock fragmentation that makes loading and hauling operations faster and more efficient. The broken rock can be more easily loaded into trucks by shovels and excavators. It allows access to deeper deposits of minerals and metals that would be impossible to reach by drilling and excavating alone. Explosives can break up rock much further below the surface. In open pit mines, blasting also helps to create the steps and benches in the pit walls to access deeper layers. Controlled blasting creates a stable wall slope. 00:00 D10 Ripping Rock by Glenn Holland @glennholland2377 00:03 ROBUR Attachments @roburattachments2286 00:06 Helgert Granit GmbH @helgertgranitgmbh452 00:10 lozarok @lozarok 00:13 00:42 BHP @bhp 00:29 Buma Australia @bumaaustralia8147 00:38 02:03 Manooat @Manooat 00:53 07:32 Dyno Nobel @DynoNobelVideos 01:02 Tarun Kumar @tarunkumar8313 01:19 David Hersey @DykonPowderman 01:40 05:15 05:31 06:09 Daxter Drilling @baxterdrilling6020 01:47 06:14 Dykon Blasting @DykonBlasting 02:19 Lothar Rapp GmbH Bohr- und Sprengunternehmen @lotharrappgmbhbohr-undspre5704 02:32 Nightstalker76 @nightstalker76 02:50 Society For Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration @SMESocietyForMining 02:56 Mining Education @miningeducation698 03:08 Wzu Augsburg @wzuaugsburg8554 04:13 04:23 04:35 07:14 Christian Vogler @taxidriv 04:55 u8myufo @u8myufo 05:23 Saurabh Singh @saurabh18m 05:39 Mining Engineering @miningengineering7786 05:52 Ideal Blasting Supply Inc @Idealblasting 06:00 Jeremiah Dunklee @jeremiahdunklee8406 06:47 SQ MINING SOCIETY @sqminingsociety3290 07:08 Steffen Lehmann @SteffenLehmann 07:45 getnotified @getnotified3948 07:50 Contender @Contender_
