The Lightyear Cast on the ’Toy Story’ Legacy and Favorite Pixar Movies | Rotten Tomatoes

Back in 1995, an independent animation studio called Pixar released their very first feature film, and it went on to become a runaway hit, earning over $370 million at the worldwide box office and setting the stage for the studio’s future. Almost 27 years and 25 films later, Pixar returns to the ’Toy Story’ universe to chronicle the adventures of Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Chris Evans), the space ranger whose film inspired the toy originally voiced by Tim Allen. With ’Lightyear’ opening in theaters, RT correspondent Naz Perez sat down with Evans and co-stars Keke Palmer, Uzo Aduba, Taika Waititi, James Brolin, and Peter Sohn, as well as producer Galyn Susman and writer-director Angus MacLane, for an in-depth chat about how they crafted the story, embodied their characters, and upheld the legacy of the ’Toy Story’ films. They also ponder the possibility of a live-action ’Lightyear,’ consider traveling to space for real, and reveal their own personal favorite Pixar films.
