Did you know that before becoming a solo artist, Katy Perry was the vocalist of Rammstein for a short period in 2001. This is the only track she recorded with the band before leaving. After her departure, Rammstein changed the lyrics of the song and released it as “Sonne“. A reworked version of the track, titled “E.T.“, was released 9 years later by Katy Perry in 2010. From Wikipedia: Perry’s decision to write “E.T.“ came after its beat was played during a recording session she had with Rammstein. It was originally intended for Rammstein’s 2001 album “Mutter“. However, after hearing the demo version, Perry chose to work with the track as a solo artist and left the band. She told MTV News: “I heard it and I always knew I wanted to write this futuristic, alienistic song, and they pulled it up and I was like, ’Wait, I can wrap my head around this.
