The Heights of Abraham: Cable Car Ride - Peak District, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, England

The Heights of Abraham: Britain’s first Alpine Style Cable car located in the Derbyshire countryside in Matlock Bath. The Cable Car is a gondola lift about 1/3 mile long (1,864 feet (568 m)), it links the spa town of Matlock Bath with the Heights of Abraham, a tourist attraction 554 feet (169 m) above. The cable car lift was built by Poma and opened in spring of 1984. In 2004 the cable cars were upgraded to 12 x six-seater cabins making them larger and more accessible. The cable cars slow down to let people on at the bottom and off at the top. When they stop completely halfway up, it’s just to let people with pushchairs and wheelchairs on. This is a great opportunity to take some stunning photos of the Derwent Valley and Masson Hill. From bottom to top, you travel 169 meters (or 554ft) upwards and you’ll pass over 5 towers. The highest tower is (77ft) tall. Thanks for tuning into Stone Age Productions, Why not hit that subscribe button and the little bell icon next to it so you don’t
