Russia’s intelligence chief claims U.S., U.K. and Ukraine were behind Moscow terrorist attack
Russian President Vladimir Putin said the suspects in the attack on a concert hall in a Moscow suburb should have a “fair punishment.“
Speaking at a meeting of the General Prosecutor’s collegium, Putin also said investigators and security services are working to establish the circumstances of the attack that killed 139 people.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said his country doesn’t need Western assistance in the investigation.
Also on Tuesday, the Kremlin said that those “gloating“ about the bloodshed were “scumbags.“The ISIS claimed it carried out the attack, and US intelligence said it had information confirming the group was responsible.
However, Putin said investigators haven’t determined who ordered the attack, but that it was necessary to find out “why the terrorists after committing their crime tried to flee to Ukraine and who was waiting for them there.”
Later on Tuesday, the head of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said that the U.S., U.K. and Ukraine were behind the attack.
The search for bodies came to an end on Tuesday.
