The Chronicles Highway Attack ’Gameplay Footage’ in 4K...

Well, I figured there would be no better way to put a bow-tie on this fun project than to actually provide you guys with some footage of it in modern-day 4K. This has been such a fun project. After starting it one-day randomly two years ago and then rehashing it all with much more content in late 2023. It all started with the basis of just having fun and being creative, imagining an alternate timeline where The Chronicles would have had a 16-bit racing game on a Super Nintendo console. Obviously there were some liberties taken with how much I could actually make look ’16-bit’ but I think for the most part, it pulls off the feel of an old racing game faithfully. There was a lot of inspiration taken from some of my favorite games like Tokyo Xtreme Racer, Option Tuning Car Battle and some more obscure titles from Japan that I discovered over the years. This is the perfect send-off and to close-out many, many hours dedicated to The Chronicles: Highway Attack Challenge. I’ve been flooding my feed with this stuff and I think some of you are probably wondering why I care so much about this stuff. Well, it’s a lot of fun and everything I do takes bits and pieces from my childhood. It’s a constant reminder to stay young and to remember those core memories of seeing something for the first time that you didn’t think was possible. This is an homage to an era long-gone using elements and memories from my experiences in Osaka with my friends. A lot of the Hondas used in this ’gameplay footage’ were very significant to The Chronicles whenever I visited Japan. I guess it’s only appropriate that I put the finishing touches to this while I’m actually in Japan. Of course this isn’t real. I don’t think we live in a world where this could actually be real considering all that would be involved with licensing and executing everything in a way that I feel would be honest to my experiences. There are so stories I’d never tell from my experiences in Osaka and I’d definitely be way too tempted in putting them into the story arc for this imaginary game. Think of this as a ’proof of concept’, I suppose. None of it is real. it’s just meant to feel like it could be. THIS IS NOT REAL. *All brands, shops or any cars resembling real life counterparts represented in this conceptual art piece are not in any way affiliated with The Chronicles or The Chronicles: Highway Attack Challenge.
