Feminists Who Argued Men & Women Are the Same Have Logical Dilemma Denying Transwomen are Women

In this clip from her longer #NCFWhittle interview, Mary Harrington, Unherd columnist and author of the new book: “Feminism Against Progress“ argues that its very hard for feminists to oppose transwomen when they’ve spent so long arguing there is no difference between the sexes. The call for abolition of sex came loudest from elite feminists in the professions or with careers which were not impacted by one’s sex. She says that from the perspective of female journalists, tv producers, academics etc (women with jobs that were uninfluenced by sex), women’s interests were best advanced by abolishing sex. However, the logical conclusion of not discriminating against someone on the basis of their sex is that one shouldn’t discriminate against (trans)women who aren’t in fact female, because we should act in all instances as if sex doesn’t matter.
